Diana Tyler

Sunrise: July 19, 1961

Sunset: January 29, 2019

Diana Tyler, affectionately known as Diane, Lady Di, Dot and “Dot Dot with the bad back”, went from labor to reward on January 29, 2019. She was born to the late Christine and Roy Tyler, in Norfolk, VA. Educated in Norfolk Public Schools, she was previously employed by Marriott and Hampton Inn hotel chains, as well as the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Diane was known for her cleanliness and cooking skills, mastering those dishes passed down from her mother.

The epitome of living life like it was golden, Diane was considered the life of the party! She enjoyed life to the fullest. She would be one of the first ones to grace a dance floor with her signature “Robot” and “Turtle” dance moves. She supported all events of her family and friends without hesitation. Never one to shy away from a camera, she was very photogenic. Her smile always radiated in every picture. The biggest part of her life was her family. She loved her daughters and son, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was supportive in all areas of their lives. She cheered for them during their academic achievements and sporting and competitive events. She enjoyed road trips and outings with her sisters, as well as other siblings and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, as well as her brother, Timothy Key. She leaves to cherish her loving memory two daughters, Divonda Tyler and Donnisha Tyler McKelvin; one son, Donyelle Tyler; one son-in-law, Alphonso “Ellis” McKelvin; three sisters, Yvonne Parker, Rosalyn Fountain and Christine “Pat” Tyler; five brothers, Ryland Key, Leroy, Bobby, Barry and Christopher Tyler; 14 grandchildren, Delvontae, DaJuan, Deontae, Demontae, Donmanisha, Daiveontay, D-eonna and D’Shailah Tyler, D’Kheriyon and Alaisjah McKelvin, D-Nilyah Wilson-Tyler, Adriel and Abryon Massey and Da-Naisa Wilson; four great-grandchildren, D’Maya and D’Mia Tyler and Messiah and My’Ziah Taylor; Blount siblings; nieces,
nephews and so many other loving relatives and friends.
