Derrick Anthony Gregory gained his wings on September 29, 2018 at Riverpoint Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Derrick was born on April 23, 1993 to his mother Shontella Gregory. Derrick grew up with a village of Love lead by his late great grandmother, Janie L. Gregory. Derrick went on to graduate from Churchland High School in June of 2013. After his graduation he went on to pursue his football career at Mississippi State University for two years. After returning home he welcomed a Beautiful baby girl into the world named Jurnee. Derrick was blessed to have an abundance of love around him after his great-grandmothers passing that included Carolyn Gregory, Loletha Reese and Carolyn Gregory-Glass. Derrick was predeceased in death by his great grandmother, Janie L. Gregory, Derrick Lewis and Shawn Skinner. As a child Derricks great-grandmother raised him to be a strong young man with a big heart. He attended Holy Light Church of Deliverance where he was a member of the Junior Choir.
Derrick is Survived by his mother Shontella Gregory, his daughter Jurnee Moore, his grandparents IdaMae Speller, John Henry, William and Joyce Lewis, siblings Dershonia Gregory, Travis Kelly , Johnshonika Gregory and Antshanta Gregory. Derrick also leaves to cherish a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
