Denise L. Joe

On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, God’s angel of eternal rest, visited and took our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Denise Joe. She was born , March 10, 1955 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Norma and
Alfred Graham. She attended and graduated from Granby High School Class of 1979. She was a member of St. Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church, Norfolk for many years. She worked for Norfolk Public Schools in the Accounting Department for
36 years until she retired in 2010.

Denise enjoyed gatherings and events with her family and friends. She loved eating crabs, playing cards, listening to music, and bowling. She loved herself some Anita Baker, and her favorite song was “You Bring Me Joy”, and she gave
us “Joy”. She was a caring and honest person, very soft spoken, and with a willingness to help anybody in need.

Denise was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Corbin, a brother, Harold Graham, and 2 sisters, Tawana Brinson and Sheila Smith. Left to cherish her precious memories are one son, Antoine Corbin(Kimberly);one brother, Ronald Wilson(Karen); her fiance’, Raymond Jones;five grandchildren, Kimdrick Feaster, Kquadrie Corbin, Kquanise Corbin, Ashanti Corbin, and Akia Corbin; a very special and devoted sister-in-law(and caretaker for many years), Lisa Corbin Woodhouse;and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in- law, cousins, relatives, and friends.
