On Thursday, July 8, 2021 our Heavenly Father welcomed His son, Demetric L. Coleman home from this life, peacefully. Demetric was born on March 1, 1981 at Depaul Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia to Willie Wesley Coleman and Etta Thomas Coleman. Demetric is predeceased by his grandfathers, Moses Coleman and Stanley Thomas Sr.; his grandmother Vernistine Johnson; his uncle, JC Coleman. Demetric attended Oscar Smith Middle and Oscar Smith High schools. He was a member of Calvary Revival Church in Norfolk, Virginia.
Demetric loved playing baseball and football. He also took an interest in karate. He played the piano, often participating in recitals. He was a jack of all trades, a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one. In other words he was versatile and adept at many things. He loved life and was very outgoing. Always open to show himself friendly…wearing such a great big smile!
Demetric enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends. It was a delight for him to go on outings with his children, swimming, cooking out, shopping, dining out and going to the movies. He was truly a guy full of life.
It was also a delight for him to hang close with the guys he grew up with, who gave him that special name… MEAT FROM THE STREET!!!
He will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Demetric leaves behind, his parents Willie Coleman and Etta Thomas Coleman; grandmother Bessie Thomas; brother Jerronne Wesley Coleman (Tracey), sisters Katriona Wilson (Wallace), Katrina Wilson (Antonio), Chrystal Todd; son Jabari Harper, daughters Armani Coleman, Ariana McPherson, Ava Spellman; and a very special partner Monica Mathews; uncle Stanley Thomas, Jr. (Pearl), aunts Brenda Higgs, Betsy Thomas (Ronnie) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

With deepest sympathy as we all remember Demetric. Let our memories sustain and bring comfort during this unhappy season.
For the Coleman and Thomas family let’s remember this “ If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord”. Romans 14:8 Amen
God Bless us all.
