Delroy Burton was born in Manchester, Jamaica to Myra Reed and Albert Burton. He met Enidth Kamaka and her young son Albert Brooks, they later married. Their family quickly grew with three Beautiful girls, Charmaine Forbes, Judith Partlow, and Annette Burton.

He later moved his family to Queens, New York where they lived for many years, during these years his family continued to grow to accumulate more children through love: Alberta McLaughlin, Darrell Harrell, Tawana Castillo, and John Castillo, and many grandchildren, Ricardo Burton, Nekema Brooks, Kevin Forbes, Jadaniel McLaughlin, Malik Partlow, Da’Shaune Forbes, Rikaya Partlow, Justus Partlow and Michah Partlow, Kaijah Harrell, Tyler Castillo, Cameron Castello, and April Sawyer.

As the family continued to grow, he said goodbye to New York, moving to Virginia to be closer to the grandchildren. The move to Virginia never diminished his love and loyalty to his favorite baseball team, his beloved New York Yankees.

Settled in Virginia, the family grew up with many friends and great-grandchildren, Trevaun, Elijah, Ajani, Imel, Capri, Edwin, Armani, Lataejha, Jay’ceon, and Kiana. A quiet and laid-back man, who loved spending time with family, loved Thanksgiving and Christmas, enjoyed watching baseball, passionate about the care of his car and lawn. Although faced with many health setbacks over recent years, he always remained in good spirits, and never complained, reminding those around him “I’m 90 years old what do you expect?” We expected him to be around forever.
