The Lord called our beloved Queen Delores M. Lyle (Dee) home to rest, on October the 7th. She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was born to the late Lottie V. Scott and Leroy L. Lane. She was a native of Norfolk, Va. Delores was a faithful member of Bank Street Baptist Church, since she was 9 years old. She graduated from Booker T Washington High School in 1951. Then attended Little State, now known as NSU. She has worked as the head waitress for several lounges, such as Archie’s Lounge, Mark IV, and The Chief Petty Officer Club, where she was the head waitress, where she met her late husband James O. Lyle. They were married on Valentine’s Day in 1976. She was also a past member of the Eastern Star, Daughter of Isis, Arabia Temple No. 12.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Johnathan Futch, and brother Rico McAllister. She leaves to cherish her memory: sons Michael Ogden, and Darryl Ogden Sr. (Sharon). Her daughter Deborah R. Scott-Hicks (McKinley). Nine Grandchildren Franchesska Scott, Shannon Scott, Darryl Scott (Andrienne), Sherelle Ogden(Rod), Shakeia Moore, Canty Savage, Darryl Ogden Jr. (Andrian), JoMyyaa Simmons (Jeffrey), and Matthew Green: 24 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren: A brother Keith McAllister, 2 sisters Marion Jackson, and Mae Wiley. A special friend Ben Thomas and a host of cousins and friends.
