Delores Clayter, age 62, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, February 14, 2020 in Chesapeake, Virginia. She was the loving wife of Michael Clayter for the last 40 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Michael Jerome Clayter (Laurel, Maryland) and Durrell Jarric Clayter (Hagerstown, Maryland) and one granddaughter, Kalayah Clayter. She was looking forward to the impending arrival of a grandson. She also leaves behind her beloved parakeets, Lilly and Prince.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 11, 1957, she was the daughter of Johnny Dennis and Marie Roane, who preceded her in death. She survived by one brother, Johnny Dennis and a sister, Crystal Dennis, both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was also loved by her husband’s two sisters, Belinda Clayter (Vern) and Vicki Clayter, and six brothers, Stanley Clayter (Stephanie), Tony Clayter, Jack Clayter, Curtis Clayter (Rebecca), Damone Clayter and Larry Clayter (Stella), along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Delores, who we all called “Dee” was the love of her husband Michael’s life, a devoted and loving wife, Michael’s soulmate and best friend. At every family gathering you could find “Dee” on the dance floor with Michael. Rarely did you see one without the other. Dee was also a loving mother and grandmother that loved her sons and granddaughter with every fiber of her being and could not have been prouder of them. Dee worked as an Administrative Assistant for various companies, both domestic and international, but later decided that she was ready to become a homemaker to spend time doing the things she loved, art projects and collecting photographs of architecture and models, which she assembled into print art.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
We pray the Lord continues to cover you and the family at this very difficult time.. We love you all the way from Philly
