On Sunday, July 19, 2020, the Lord came and took Della to her heavenly home. Dellaviolla “K.C.” James, 49 was born in Portsmouth, VA on January 23, 1971. She was the oldest of Joann and Thomas Culpepper, Sr. Della graduated from I.C. Norcom, Tidewater Community College with an A.D. and Norfolk, State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business.
She has had various jobs, Clerk at Norfolk Naval Shipyard Apprentice School, Home Healthcare Aide and fast food industry. At the time of her passing she worked for CititTrend for over 12 years. Della met and fell in love with her husband William “David” James. This union had a son, William “Donte” Culpepper. Della Never met a stranger. She loved to laugh. She was always telling me “go to your Corner”. Della was a strong, beautiful, caing and loving woman. She loved her Lord and Savior, family and friends.
Della was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunties; Youneko Artis and Jacqueline Atkins, uncle, Harold Robinson and
cousin, Tanneko Blount. Left to cherish her precious memories is her parents, Joann and Thomas Culpepper, Sr., husband,
William David; son, William Donte (Tashayia); brother, Thomas Culpepper, Jr. of Portsmouth, VA; three uncles, Ernell Robinson
(Monica) of North Andover, MA; Joseph Blount and Darrell Richardson of Portsmouth, VA; two aunts, Annettie Tyson of Portsmouth, VA and Robin Thomas (Darrell) of Servern, MD; special aunt, Charmaine Youmans of Washingston, DC along
with a host of family and friends.
