Debra Scott

Sunrise: September 2, 1960

Sunset: November 15, 2022

Debra Scott was born on September 2nd, 1960 to the late Betty Brown and Thomas Jefferson Walker. Debra was raised by her grandparents Willie-Mae and Raymond Randolph in Lawrenceville, VA. She maintained a close relationship with her mother and siblings (Yolanda, Zina, Michelle, and Charles, Jr.) despite them living in Philadelphia. Debra had several occupations over the years. Her most recent job was a machine operator at Stihl. Debra loved her co-workers and referred to them as her work family. Debra was one of a kind, people naturally gravitated towards her and recognized her youthful spirit. Although Debra had a point blank approach to life and a realist world view she was someone people could confide in. Debra wasn’t just the life of the party, she was the party. She lit up any room with her positive energy, beautiful smile and straight forward personality. Debra was a wonderful chef and was very passionate about her cooking. She loved spending time with her family especially during the holidays. Debra also enjoyed reading, watching TV and most of all traveling. Her favorite vacation was to Kenya with her cousin Shaurne where she went to a safari and visited a Mosaic village. Some of her most memorable vacations were: Bermuda with her sisters Zina and Yolanda; mountain trips with her sisters and friends Linda and Joyce; Nicaragua with her niece Breshawana and New Orleans with her best friend Terri. Debra was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and best friend Terri. Debra was survived by her sisters Yolanda, Zina, Michelle; her brother Charles and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Debra will be missed greatly. Even though she left this world too soon she lived her life to the fullest and with no regrets.

My heart and condolences go out to the family. I will truly miss my friend and school mate. We grew up in the Brunswick County Public School System and were best of buddies (Debra, Martha Stark and I). God has called home one of his angels. We love you but God loves you more. Rest in Peace my friend. I will always cherish the memories made.
