Deatrice D. Lawrence

Sunrise: August 30, 1981

Sunset: May 25, 2020

On May 25, 2020 our beloved Deatrice D Lawrence departed from this life, born August 30, 1981 in Norfolk, Virginia to Claude Squire and the late Ruth Lawrence. Deatrice aka “Dirl Dirl” aka “Thookie” as many family members called her had a smile that brung joy to everyone’s heart.

Deatrice was the youngest of all her siblings, 2 brothers Partrail Lawrence and LaMonte Weaver, 5 sisters Tasha and Sherene Lawrence, LaShon Weaver, Diana and Lynn Squire. She is survived by her grandmother Mildred Lawrence, and she have a collective total of 11 aunts and 8 uncles.

Deatrice attended Grandy High School, she was raised in Norview but really captured the heart of her friends when they moved to Villa Heights. She later met Tremaine Martin and together they had 4 beautiful children whom she leaves to cherish. Ahmond Martin her son (16) and her 3 girls Amani Lawrence (15), Ayonnah Lawrence (14) and Aunisti Lawrence (10).

To know Deatrice is to know she was the life of the party, she made her presence known with her distinguish voice. She would dress up, turn on her lady charm and sex appeal, but don’t get it twisted Deatrice was a thug in heels. To be present here today means you become to know the Deatrice we’ve always loved, she was very beautiful, caring, loyal, and humorous . She was also very animated and loved quoting movies and reciting songs and If she rocked with you she had a nickname for you or a phrase that only you and her shared. But most of all her heart belonged to her beautiful children that she adored and her mother who was her everything.

Deatrice leaves to cherish her godmother Lashawn Whitney, her cousin Shekita Lawrence who was raised with her like a sister, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a special friend Kim Cuffee.
