“CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE”
Deacon David Shelvin Jenkins on April 12, 2021, God sent for David and he came to him.
David was born March 1, 1940 to the late Mr. Earnest and Mrs. Janie Langley Jenkins. Out of the union were nine siblings. David was born in Tarlboro, North Carolina. David was educated in Tarlboro , North Carolina Public Schools System. And later joined the United States Army. He served two terms in Vietnam War.
David was a gifted person with many talents and had no problem using what God entrusted him with to serve others. He was known for his delicious cooking and building everything his hands could find to do.
David was known by his family and friends as Deacon David, Dave, PaPa and granddad.
He leaves to celebrate his legacy his wife, Pastor Gale Jennings Jenkins, of Chesapeake, one Son, David D. Jenkins (Teresa) OF Suffolk, Virginia; four daughters, Jeanie Pettaway Arnold (Pastor Dale) of Georgia; Mechele A. Jacobs, Northern, Virginia; Nefeteria N. Jenkins Moore (Willie O. Moore) Chesapeake, Virginia; a special daughter, Donna Jones (Leroy) Santa Clarita,of California, nine grands: Tachele S. Jacobs, Titus Petteway, Tyree Petteway, Jamila Lamb, Travon Lamb Jenkins, Robert B. Jenkins, Jalan L. Jenkins, Nori W. Moore and Willie O. Moore, Jr. 10 Great Grandchildren, two siblings, Bishop LV Jenkins (late Beatrice), Eudi Mae Gay (Bishop Early Gay, Jr.) two sisters-in-laws, Ruby L. Johnson (Steve) Sherry L. Brooks. 2 Brothers-in-law, Dennis Jennings, Jr (late Sheila), Ronnie R. Jennings (Victoria). A host of Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, and a special friend Dr. James H. Power, Jr.
The Family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and all acts of Kindness.
