David “Beaver ”Allan McLellan, age 72, departed this life peacefully on October 2, 2019 in Portsmouth, VA. He was born January 3, 1947 to the late David McLellan and Eddie Townsend McLellan. He attended .I.C. Norcom High School. In his young adulthood years, he coached Little League football and mentored many young men. He began working for Newport News Naval Shipyard as an auto mechanic, and quickly learned his trade as a welder, where he finished his career at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of a prestigious bowling league, from which he earned numerous trophies.
David was a hard-working , always smiling, joking and loving husband ,father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, and brother. He loved bowling, his 2 liter Pepsis, working on his cars, and driving around in his van, “65” Mustang and Camaro, He was a very “die-hard and loyal” Washington Redskins fan, no matter how many losses they suffered. David was predeceased by his mother, Eddie M. Townsend Mclellan; father, David Mclellan; and sister, Patricia Y. McLellan-Carmichael. David leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Edith I. McLellan; three daughters, Victoria Elliott (Larry), Nicole Cinkodelen, and Neltresia McLellan; two brothers, William McLellan(Denise) and Glenn McLellan; three sisters, Annie “Cookie”McLellan-Ausby, Dorcas” Dot” McLellan, and Vera Jean McLellan, all from Virginia; eight grandchildren, Dominique Banks, Brittany Banks, Tiffany Banks, Ivory Cade III, Isiah Cade, Ashlee McLellan, Marissa McLellan, and Marcellous Brown, Jr.; seven great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, aunts, uncles nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
