Cynthia Marie Baker

Sunrise: July 31, 1963

Sunset: October 5, 2024

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, God took the hand of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and Grandmother Cynthia “Cent” Baker from her life on earth to eternal life. “Cent” was born on July 31, 1963, in Norfolk, Virginia to William Lindsey and Mildred Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents James Baker and Marie Baker.

Cynthia attended Granby High School in Norfolk, Virginia. “Cent” loved to cook for others. She lived with a selfless heart that she often showed by putting others’ concerns and needs before her own. One of her other favorite pastimes she loved was going to play Bingo at the Bingo Hall.

“Cent” was the life of the party, and nothing meant more to her than her family and close friends. Being in the presence of Cynthia you would have a good time and a few good laughs. “Cent” was truly a joy to be around. Her caring nature and presence left an undeniable mark on all who knew her. Cynthia’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.

Cynthia was a loving mother, daughter, aunt, sister, and devoted grandmother who leaves to cherish her loving memory father, William Lindsey, and her mother Mildred Lindsey; sister, Laverne Lindsey, two brothers Lashawn Lindsey and Kubree Baker; two children DaDra Baker-Turner (Willie) and Sherrod Baker; two grandchildren Syn’Nare and Zhuri Turner; bonus daughters Antelisha Cuffee, Shameka Brooks, Culisa Baker and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
