Curtis L Mitchell is an individual known for his loving and humorous personality, who passed on November 7, 2024. Born on November 22, 1957, Curtis lived his life the best way he knew. He never ventured far from his family home in Portsmouth, Virginia. Curtis was educated in the Portsmouth Public School system and infamously known in the city of Portsmouth. Curtis was recognized by many, and every person has a comical story to tell. Curtis loved to dance, cook on the grill, watch the Philadelphia Eagles, play horseshoes, and have a good old-fashioned time. One of his greatest characteristics was being a protector and a fighter. Curtis would protect his family and demand his respect, no matter who you were. During his final days, Curtis fought back his illness long enough to make it home, where he passed peacefully in his childhood home.
Curtis is predeceased by his father, Vernon Mills. Curtis leaves behind his loving mother Irene Mills; brother Vernon “VJ” Mills; children Curtis “Lamont” Morris (Sabrina), Bryan “Hub” Morris (Daisy), Kyneshia “Neshia” Morris; Stepson Stephen “JR” Chaffin; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Curtis also leaves behind a special niece, Lashqwa “Lala” Mills.
His departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives, yet we find comfort in the memories and everlasting love we shared. Curtis will forever reside in our hearts. We will forever miss “Cavalier Boulevard Curt.” He’s in God’s hands now.
