Curnes D. Cuffee

Curness Dion Cuffee was born December 25, 1985, to Ivan Purnell Cuffee and Ella Mae Johnson Outlaw in Chesapeake, VA. He departed this life to live eternally in the evening hours on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Chesapeake Regional Hospital. He lived and loved his community in the Broad Lawn subdivision of Chesapeake, VA.

Curness was educated in the Chesapeake City School System and graduated from Oscar Smith High School. He was a former Supervisor of Federal Express (FEDEX) as a warehouse worker in Chesapeake, VA. He also worked with Lifesavers Affordable Plumbing.
Curness accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He attended Gabriel Chapel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Zion Church and occasionally attended and played drums at St. Grace Holiness Church of Deliverance.

After leaving FEDEX, he diligently served his Nana, Mae Henry Cuffee, until her passing and continued to serve his PaPa, Daniel L. Cuffee, Sr.. He loved his family unconditionally and gave whatever he had to them. He found a love for producing and would often promote many events in the community.

In addition to Curness, he was predeceased by his Loving Nana, Mae Henry Cuffee; his special Granny, Augustine Sawyer; Grandma Muggy, Rosa Johnson; grandfather, Donald Johnson; great-grandparents, Ella Mae Simons and Curnes Simons; and niece, Kaydence Eason.

Left to cherish fond memories are his beloved parents, Ivan Cuffee (Shantell), and Ella Mae Johnson Outlaw (Thomas). Grandfather, Daniel L. Cuffee, Sr.; sisters, Teliar Johnson, Kadisha Sanderson, LaTonya Sanderson, and Quinita Sanderson; brothers, Jovan Eason, Jalen Eason, and Jamal Cuffee; special uncles, Daniel L. Cuffee, Jr., and Rex T. Cuffee (Sylvia); and special friend, Alexis Askew; and a host of aunts, uncles. Nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

    Little cousin,

    We are really going to miss you, but I know that Aunt Mae Henry welcomed you home with a big hug and a kiss. I am praying for peace and comfort for the family during our time of grief, especially for his parents, Uncle Daniel, his uncles, and his siblings.

    Just found out recently about Curnes passing. We went to high school together at Smith and I didn’t even know he was family back then but assumed he probably was with the last name. Rest in heaven family.

    Cuz as we got older we really only saw each other at family functions. But everytime I saw your grandfather I knew your weren’t far behind. The family will miss you. And we recognize the sacrifices you mad to make sure your grandfather was taken care of.
