Crystal E. Terry

Sunrise: March 16, 1959

Sunset: February 9, 2025

Crystal Elizabeth Wilson Terry was the firstborn to the late Dorothy and Earl. She was the oldest of her two sisters.

Crystal was dedicated and baptized at John Wesley Methodist Church in Bristol, TN, home church of her grandparents.

Crystal was raised with her siblings in the Oakwood Community of Norfolk, VA. Crystal grew up during the times when children played outdoors all day and everyone had to be home when the street lights came on. Crystal was raised by her parents and grandparents throughout her childhood.

Crystal attended Norfolk Public Schools, where she developed a love for music. Crystal learned to play several musical instruments, from the flute, oboe, French horn, trumpet, and saxophone, but she fell in love with the clarinet. Crystal participated in the marching band at Rosemont Middle School and Norview Senior High School, where she graduated in 1978.

After high school, Crystal married Robert Wilson and from this union welcomed her beautiful daughter Danielle Wilson. Crystal remarried William Terry, Jr and from this union welcomed her bouncing baby boy William Terry III.

Crystal started her career driving school buses with Norfolk and Chesapeake Public Schools. Crystal loved driving and the newfound freedom she found through driving. Crystal proved that she could not only drive a school bus, but she could drive anything, and she proved it with all the following companies: E. V. Williams Trucking Company, Bay Disposal, and SPSA, where she won several awards and certifications for her driving skills and accident-free record. Crystal was fondly known at her job as “Terry”, Chris, or Ms. Crystal. Crystal loved her jobs and was a very loyal and dedicated employee to all her employers.

Crystal loved the Redskins and she loved her family. She glowed when she spoke of their accomplishments. She was very proud of Danielle and William; her grandsons also gave her joy, and William’s son, Dakota, filled her with joy and pride.

Crystal loved cooking and cooked very well. She enjoyed the beach and being out on the water with her friends fishing or just soloing out on the Ocean View Pier when the fish were biting. Crystal also had a green thumb; she loved her plants as well as all animals. Crystal also enjoyed relaxing with friends over a bushel of crabs; anything seafood with a cold one is hard.

Crystal leaves to cherish her memory,  her daughter and son, Danielle Gandy (Gerald), William Terry III (Dominique); three grandsons, Senior Airman Kamren Gandy, Gavin Gandy and Dakota Terry; her siblings, Parker Gammon (Valarie), Valarie Williams (Charles) and Teresa McClain; her niece and nephew, Tember and Tyreece Miller; adopted brother, Kenny Pollock and a host of cousins, in-laws, and a group of beloved friends and coworkers.

The family would like to thank everyone for everything: cards, text, prayers, and phone calls.

Crystal from our young days playing on City Beach all to our selves, and running inside uncle Horace’s beach house, we had such a ball. From family coming together, your mom and dad and our parents, boy those were the days. Us girls shared many great memories. I know you are in that next part of life that we talk about in our earthly existence. Present with God! Hallelujah! So I rejoice, and thank Him for blessing your life . Now your new journey has begun with the beautiful sunrises, and sunsets. Kisses and Hugs Cousin!
