Cordelia Wilson Cuffee 92, transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday April 09, 2020 in the presence of her loving family. She was born January 07, 1928 in Norfolk County to the late Pecolia and Thaddeus Wilson. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Cuffee, 2 daughters: Paulette J. Cuffee and Cathy M. Cuffee and 2 sons: Charles A. Cuffee and Donzell L. Cuffee and a grandson: Marcus Cuffee. Also, her constant loving canine companion, Rome.
Cordelia was a lifelong member of Gabriel Chapel AME Zion and retired from Sentara Nursing Center of Chesapeake where she served as a dietary aide. She loved gardening and baking, she was well known for her delicious pies and cakes , always preparing special treats for the holidays. Another love was her hats, she was famous among family members for her extensive hat collection. There was a something stylish for every occasion! She was a devoted wife and mother, caring for her husband and 2 of her children during their time of illness. Even when her health was failing, she was always concerned with the well being of her family in spite of her condition. She was also a loving grandmother,
great-great grandmother and great- great- great grandmother.
Cordelia leaves to cherish her memory daughters: Cordelia D.V. Cuffee, Sandra F. Cuffee, Bronzie Cuffee-Creekmore, Renee West( Marcus), Pamela J. Cuffee and Cheryl Fuller (Robert) and a son: Jay A. Cuffee( Karen). Grandchildren: Demetris Brown, Donte Austin, Chinina Olds, Charles A. Cuffee Jr., Donzell Austin, Latisha Ray, Bernice Cuffee, Steve C. Creekmore, Benita Cuffee, Kenneth Cuffee, Aaron Fuller, Whitney Cuffee, Brittany Creekmore, Courtney Cuffee, Kennisha Cuffee, Derron Fuller and DeAngelo Cuffee. 14 great-great grandchildren and 7 great-great-great grandchildren. A special nephew, Ronnie Wilson aka Bonus Brother. 2 sisters: Trusanna Dickerson and Grizella Winston and a host of nieces and nephews extended family and friends.
There are many memories and stories that will always keep Mom alive in our hearts and minds. She was not only the Matriarch of our family: she was the life’s blood and heartbeat that made us the strong passionate individuals we are today. This trait that we have inherited not only from her but Dad as well will help us to endure both the heartache of loss and the jubilation of her ascension to be with the King of the Most High, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Let not your heart be trouble for she has gone on to be with family that are rejoicing in Heaven for her arrival.
