Cora Lee Elsbery departed this life on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Sentara Leigh Hospital with family by her side.
She was born on February 24, 1949 to Johnnie and Hannah Williams in Windsor, NC. Later Cora moved to Norfolk, VA where she lived and worked. Cora graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.
She worked for the City of Norfolk in the Social Services, and Department of Utilities; she retired after 30 years of service. She loved shopping, flower arranging and decorating. She was a member of New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by father, Johnnie Williams, Sr.; brothers, Willie and Robert Williams; sister, Doris Jackson. Left to cherish her memories her one and only son Keith Lamonte Deas; Sister Mary Webster (James) Johnnie, Jr (Mary); one special sister- Delia Sutton; two special cousins, Margaret Williams and Ethel Mae Johnson; nephews, Ronald, Marcus (Wendy), James (Tara), Cornelius (Courtney), Steven; two nieces, Falesia (Shelby) and Toya (Tony); great niece, Taylor and great nephew, Justin; and a host of relatives and friends, two longtime friends/sisters, Marsha Canon and Carolyn McCowen.
