Constance (Connie) Lee Jones Walters, a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend, departed this life in the early hours of Monday, April 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving sons. A native of Portsmouth, VA, Connie was born to the late Magaline Jones Wilson and Fred Lee Jones. She was educated in the Portsmouth Public School system. Afterwards, she moved to Alexandria, VA. She had worked for the federal government for the past 30 years, the last 10 at the Pentagon. She joined Highview Christian Fellowship of Fairfax, VA, where she expressed her passionate love for God. She loved listening to preaching and gospel music; cooking and reading were her favorite pastimes. During COVID, she joined a prayer group better known as The Posse.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Courtney Tauren Walters and Brandon Ray Walter both of Alexandria, VA: one brother, Michael Wayne Jones (Darlene) of Suffolk, VA; two aunts, Janice F. Watson of Clayton, NC and Brenda O’Neal of Jacksonville, FL; one uncle, Leonard Jones (Dorothy) of Portsmouth, VA; two nephews, Michael Demerion Thomas (Erica) of Dayton, OH and Marcanthony Wayne Jones of Hampton, VA; one niece, Jowan Michelle Bailey (Thomas) of Suffolk, VA; one great nephew Damarion Thomas; one great niece, Amaiya Jones; three special friends, Darlene Pitt, Marie Braxton, and Shelia Lawson along with a host of other relatives and friends.
