Clinton E. Green

“Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8 On June 22, 2019, Clinton Ernest Green of the 400 block of W. 28th Street of Norfolk was called from this life to be with his Heavenly father. Clinton was born January 25, 1952 to the late Emma Louise (Green) Elliott and Clinton Moore. He was born on Walker Street and was a native of Norfolk for most of his life. He attended Lake Taylor High School The day he was born; Della Green was acting as his mother’s midwife. Clinton was given the middle name Ernest, in honor of his cousin Ernest Green aka Bubba, Della’s Husband.

Clinton was raised by his grandmother, Arnecia Styron Green. He was a boy scout when he was growing up and attended First Calvary Baptist Church with his Grandma Arnecia Green. He loved the Lord and cared about his family. Clinton loved to sing and did so in a band with some of his friends from the Diggs Park neighborhood. He wanted to be the next Al Green. He loved to DJ at various functions. He enjoyed playing music on the porch while talking to his friends. He was very popular and had many friends and family members who really cared for him. Clinton was a great big brother and was very protective of his sister, Diane Green Sutton. Several months prior to his death, Clinton and his sister Arleen became very close as she assisted in caring for him while he was battling cancer.

He was employed by BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair prior to his death. He was predeceased by his daughter’s mother, Diane Fields; his mother, Emma Louise Green Elliott; his father, Clinton Moore; aunt and uncle, Thomasine Celestine Green and Livingston Price
Sr.; cousin, Lynette Carol Price Bryant’ his grandparents, Arnecia and Thomas Green; great aunt and uncle, Charlie Styron Sr. and Annie Pearl Green Styron both of Oriental, NC. He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Alicia (Lisa) Fields; one brother, Thomas Alexander Elliott; two sisters, Diane Celesta (Green) Sutton and Arleen Denise (Elliott) Brooks all of Norfolk, VA; two great aunts, Geneva Styron of Oriental, NC and Thelma Styron of Newport News, VA; his aunt and uncle. Lennie Carol Green Wilson and Jerry Wilson of New Jersey; a very special cousin whom he was raised with, Shelia Diane Green of Norfolk,
VA; a special niece who he resided with, Arnecia Nicole Elliott Robinson of Norfolk, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
