Cleone Alexandria Christian

Sunrise: March 18, 1967

Sunset: June 7, 2025

Cleone was a vibrant soul, taken from us at the tender age of 58. She was a daughter, a sister, a mother, and a friend. Born and raised in our cherished Caribbean community, Cleone’s journey began at St. Patrick’s Catholic School and continued through St. Joseph High School. Her academic path led her to Xavier University in Ohio, where she formed close-knit friendships and faced life’s challenges with resilience and grace, even enduring knee surgery with a determined spirit.

Her greatest joy, however, was her son Antonio, our little butterball, who was loved beyond measure by Cleone and all of us. Her pride in him was boundless, and she found immense joy in being his mother. Antonio, know that we will always be here to guide and protect you, just as your mom would have wanted.

Cleone’s career took her to various places, from Haynes to Household, and finally to Anthem. But beyond her professional accomplishments, Cleone was a woman of kindness, eccentricity, and generosity. She had a way of lighting up a room with her laughter and love for life. Her fondness for “melee,” as we fondly call it, was legendary. Our live chats, where we would laugh, fuss, and argue, only to move on the next day as though nothing happened, were a testament to her ability to bring people together.

Cleone had a deep love for seafood and our island food, a passion that was unmistakable every time we traveled back to St. Croix. Her requests for pot fish, breadfruit, and conch were endless, and her delight in these simple joys was infectious.

Her love for our mother was unending, and their bond was something truly special. Together, they would reminisce and share stories, their laughter filling the room. Cleone’s love extended to her siblings, her nieces, and her nephew. She cherished each one of us, even when distance or time made communication less frequent.

What I will miss most about Cleone are those phone calls, her listening ear, and our shared meals at seafood restaurants. Her presence brought warmth and comfort, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled.

As we reflect on Cleone’s life, let us remember her kindness, her humor, and her unwavering love for family. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in each of us, in the stories we share, and in the love we continue to hold.

In closing, I would like to share a sentiment that encapsulates Cleone’s essence: “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” Cleone, you live on in our hearts, and we are eternally grateful for the time we shared with you.

Thank you, Cleone, for the love, laughter, and memories. Until we meet again, may you rest in peace.
