Cleanora LaVerne Britt was born on November 19, 1955, in Norfolk, VA. She was called home on November 28, 2024. She was educated through the Norfolk Public School System and then worked for Norfolk Public Schools and Kmart Corporation. Cleanora was a kind, heart-loving person. She greeted everyone she met with her beautiful smile. She was well-known in her community for her compassion for others.

Cleanora’s passing has left a void that we will try to fill by remembering how she touched our lives in her own special way. There will always be a special place in our hearts for you. (Cleanora).

The cover of Life’s book has closed for Cleanora. God has taken her to a land of peace and rest. She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories her only daughter, LaKeesha Chapel; two sons, Mardy Chapel and Nathaniel Chapel (Lucretia); sister, Carolyn Chapel; grandchildren, Marquis, Martae, LaKwon (Kira), Larry, Nakeia, Tykeion, Nasia, Keontae, and Michael; in-Laws Rena (Roland), Gail (Carlton), Darrell (Denise), Rev. Anthony (Addie); a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and special friends that she loved dearly; her niece and caregiver, Joyce Chapel Robinson; special friends, Mrs. Linda, and Juanita Stephenson hold a special place in her heart; bonus lil sister, Angie B White.

Cleanora was predeceased by her husband, Mardy Boss Britt; parents, Camp Gilbert Chapel and Addie Lee Clark Chapel; three sisters, Audrey Riddick, Jean Thornton, Gloria Chapel, one brother, Michael Chapel (Reddy Boy); favorite nephew, Tony (Fish) Chapel.

The family wishes to sincerely thank you for your cards, prayers, comfort, and acts of kindness during this time.
