Cindy R. Gordon

On Monday August 17, 2020, the Lord sent His angels to Bring Cindy Renee Gordon (46 years of age) home to be with her Heavenly Father.  Cindy also known as lue or ping was born on March 9, 1974 in Portsmouth Virginia to Costella and Nathaniel Ray.  Cindy was joined in matrimony to Orlando W. Gordon on July 27, 2002.
Cindy attended Woodrow Wilson High School and was a member of the concert, and marching band. Cindy’s passion was to help and care for others and to satisfy that passion she first became a L.P.N in 1992 at the tender age of 18 (Portsmouth School of Practical Nursing), Cindy furthered her education by attending Riverside School of Nursing to become a RN,, later Cindy earned her 1st Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Nursing, then later received her 2nd Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health from Old Dominion University.
Cindy’s employment included working  at Maryview Medical Hospital (Head Supervisor for Oncology), Norfolk Sentara Hospital (Endoscopy/ Rehabilitation Clinical Coordinator), Old Dominion University (Environmental Health Specialist).  Cindy also served as a nurse in the United States Army Reserves (Rank Sergeant).
Cindy was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church where she served on the #1 usher board.
Cindy leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Orlando Gordon, son Monte’ Jones (Erianna) son Monte Jones (Stephen) daughter Orlexia Gordon, son Orlando Gordon jr.,daughter Santisa Gordon, son Darrius Gordon, grandchildren Iyannah Smith, Monte’ Jones jr., Makylin Clark, Parispeyton Gossett, Jennasis Gordon, parents Nathaniel & Costella Ray, brother William Jones (Martha), brother Tony Jones, uncle Iterra Spears (Denise) uncle Curtis Spears (Cleo), uncle John Spears (Deloris) predeceased aunt Carolyn Cotton, niece Tonae Green, niece Nequa Powell, nephew Deandre Taylor, nephew Cordore Taylor, nephew Deshon Greene, 5 great Nephews, 6  great nieces, and a host of cousins, and friends.

      My sincerest condolences to this family, may GOD continue to strengthen and comfort you all .Cindy you are in great hands , for you have always been a great friend from when we met in high school and to later run into each other in THE HOUSE OF THE LORD . You were like a sister from another mother, for your family treats me like family for they are natural loving people. Always had a beautiful spirit and loving heart with such a beautiful smile.     I had the pleasure of working with Cindy At Maryview Rehab Center. back in 2000. I attended her wedding. She was and is a shining star! What a beautiful and smart young lady! So sad to hear about her passing. My condolences to her family. May she rest in Gods loving arms.
