Christopher “Chris” Richardson was born on June 19, 1967, to the late Vance Richardson and Dorothy Jones in Newark, New Jersey. He later moved to Richmond, Virginia with his family while still a young child.

Chris accepted Christ at an early age and attended Fifth Street Baptist Church in Richmond, where he also enjoyed going to Skate Land with family and friends.

In 2016, Christopher met the love of his life Monica. They later joined hands in Marriage on June 19, 2018, as he wanted to celebrate both of his happiest days together. Chris was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, loved waking up early mornings to maintenance the yard and countless trips to visit family and friends where he always had a great time and left everyone with memories to cherish forever.

Christopher was a former employee of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and transitioned to a career with Amazon in Suffolk, Va.

Christopher Richardson departed this life on Friday, March 22, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Jones, father Vance Richardson and sister Benita Alston.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Monica Richardson; two stepdaughters, Erica Shelton-Gonzalez and Temeka Shelton. Grandchildren, Jaden Gonzalez and Saniah Gonzalez; Stepmother, Venda Richardson; Brothers, Vance Richardson Jr (Jessica) of Chesterfield, VA, James Alston (Stephanie) of Richmond, VA, Keith Alston; Sisters, Andrea Alston (Percell) of Richmond, VA Clemis Macklin (Herbert) of Richmond, VA; Uncles, Allen Jones Jr (Otellia), Morris Jones (Shirley), Wilbert Jones Sr (Janice), William Jones (Deborah), Melvin Jones (Gayle), Maurice Richardson, Celister Richardson (Beatrice), Aunts: Mary Fuller, Martha Alston, Bessie Lou (Malone), Sarah Watkins (Walter), Susie Fondren; Childhood friends, Nile Oliver and Leroy “Burl” Cain; Best friends, Keith Godwin, Adrain Judd and Hashim Henry and a host of more Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends.
