Christine R. Welch

On Thursday, August 16, 2018, Mother Christine R. Welch passed from this life to her eternal resting place. God, in all His
magnificent glory, saw fit to call his child Home. Mother Welch was born October 6, 1923 in Southampton County. She is one of eight children, three brothers and four sisters, to the late Elder Garfield Ricks and Mrs. Lena Barnes Ricks. She began her religious journey at her father’s church, who was the pastor and founder of Saint Paul Holiness Church and returned there later in life. She was very faithful and supported the church financially and physically until she was no longer able to attend. Her signature song was “I Want to Hear Jesus Say Welcome Home.” She was preceded in death by her husband, David Welch, and her seven siblings. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
