Christine Garner, 90, of Chesapeake, VA transitioned, peacefully in her home on February 26, 2020 at 7:25pm. She was born in Williamston, North Carolina on, November 15, 1929, to Mark and Rosa Cutler Edwards. Christine was raised in Williamston, later resided in Brooklyn, New York, prior moving to Virginia. For 25 years, she was employed with AT&T, until her retirement.
Christine was a longtime member of First Church of God and Christ of Brooklyn NY. Christine was preceded by her husband, Jesse M. Garner, Jr, who passed, July 2, 1999. She leaves to cherish her memories, her two children, Leon Fuller and Jessica Evans of Chesapeake; three grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Naomi Wilkerson and Anna Mae Williams of Williamston, NC; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
