Sunset: December 13, 2019

The proud parents Victoria Goodman and Allen McCord gave birth to Cheryl D McCord July 7, 1958 in Manhattan N.Y. Cheryl was born and raised in Manhattan N.Y. but later moved to Bronx N.Y. where she attended Taft High School. Aside from Taft High School she also attended Wade Hampton High School in Greenville South Carolina, where she completed and received her high school diploma. After completing high school in South Carolina she made her way back to New York.

As years pasted Cheryl birthed her first child Christopher L. McCord (1977) .

It was at this time she met her common-law husband, Richard D. Hill her soulmate, her right to her wrong, and together they formed a life long dedicated partnership. She also cared and loved dearly Richard D Hill Children he fathered. Not long after welcomed their beautiful daughter Danielle C Hill. She loved her extended family.

Cheryl was a busy body so it wasn’t long before she secured her job through out years of working with the New York City Housing Authority. Throughout the years of working with New York City Housing Authority she always had a vision to own her own cleaning business. This was one of her dreams. Cleaning was her passion. You couldn’t leave a dish in her sink or a plate on her table without hearing her mouth. Even during her last days she try to would make her own bed and clean around the house. If she wasn’t cleaning (HAZEL) she was cooking or you could find her in the store playing her lotto. Boy o boy did Cheryl love her lotto!

Cheryl had many nicknames, SHERRY, BB, SIS and HAZEL

Her sparkling eyes would light up the room. Her bond with her children showed how much she cared for them. She treated her grandchildren as if they were her children own. she never missed a beat with them. Truly,  there was never a dull moment with Sherry. She was the life of the party from family gathering game nights etc just a burst of energy.

To know her was to love her near or far. Sherry wore her heart on her sleeve but was definitely not afraid to say how she felt. For those who knew Sherry you had to know some of her favorite phrases when speaking to her; BUNK THAT, UMM HMMM, UMMMMM, WOWWWW and don’t make her upset she will tell you  in a heart beat “You’re the WORST” pout and walk away. Sheri was such a kind hearted, generous, loving and happy person. She kept a smile on her face at all times, with those big bright eyes kept others smiling as well. Sheri and Richard later relocated to Virginia 2007 to enjoy their lives together.

Cheryl left us to join her parents, brother, sisters, son Christopher McCord and husband Richard on December 13, 2019.
