Mr. Chauncey A. Brown, 2715 Kimball Terrace Norfolk VA, answered the call of the Lord on Friday September 20, 2019. Chauncey was born on September 5, 1967 to Jessie Lee Gatling Jr. and Claudette Brown. Born in Norfolk Va., Chauncey was educated in the Norfolk Public Schools System, where he attended Lake Taylor High School. Chauncey obtained a trade in forest firefighting and held many jobs in various fields such as Norfolk Shipyard and Norfolk Naval Base. He was a person who loved life, had an awesome personality and always had a big smile.

He was always sharply dressed, and you knew when he stepped into a room because the room was brighter and his fragrance invigorated your every sense. He had a passion for dancing and keeping his loved ones laughing. Chauncey is survived by his wife, Candace “Shon” Exum-Brown, two sons Breon A. Joyner of VA, and Chauncey C. Joyner of NC; four daughters Barbara A. Joyner of GA, Arsheki Wilder (Cary) of GA, Alexia L. Brown of VA, and Claudia A. Brown of VA; three step children Kwandale Exum, Tianna Porter (Kevon) and Britney Exum all of VA. Five brothers Nahye O. Royel “Lin Lin” (Annie) of VA, Trenton R. Brown of GA, Jimel Ashby of VA, Zabian C. Brown of VA, and Willie C. Brown of VA; Five sisters Trina Y. Brown “Mae Mae” of VA, Marcell Campbell of VA, Fiyona K. Mullins(Tory) of GA, Jewel Gatling of VA, and Ashely Gatling “ Woo” of VA; Paternal Grandmother Pearline Gatling; Fourteen grandkids, Three uncles, four aunts,many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
