Charlie Oliver

Charlie Oliver was called home on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Charlie was born on February 16, 1944 to the late Eliza Jane and Bester Oliver in Eutaw, Alabama. After finishing high school, he moved to Hempstead , N.Y. He went to work in Nassau County as a cook at A. Holly Patterson Home for over 30 years. He met and married Gladys M. Downing on September 18th of this year, they would have been married 47 years. He loved his children and grandchildren.
Charlie was predeceased by one sister, Landora Oliver, and one niece, Nicey Wilder. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gladys Oliver; five children, Timothy(Jean Marie) Dowing of Chesapeake, Ryan (Giselle) Oliver of Chesapeake, VA, Latoya( Narlin) Ramseur of Hampton, VA, and Connie(Charles, Jr.) of California; five grandchildren, Jerrelle of California, Jordan of NC, Rhyan, Kennedy, and Jayden of Chesapeake, VA; one sister, Maggie of Birmingham, AL, two nephews, Ronald ( Valerie) Oliver of CA, Richard( Brunetta) Robinson of Birmingham, AL; and a host of relatives and friends, especially one good friend, cousin Jimmy Grice.
He will be missed.
