Sunrise: December 15, 1986

Sunset: August 18, 2020

On Tuesday, August 18, 2020, Charles Anthony Sparks was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Charles was born December 15, 1986 and was raised in a loving home by his father, Mr. Sheddrick and Mrs. Gina Augson. He received his primary education in Norfolk, Virginia at Chesterfield Academy. After entering Ruffner Academy, he began to shape himself into a well-rounded young man. Shortly after developing who he was he began to enjoy Lake Taylor High School, where he graduated. As he began to explore the area where he lived, he joined the Young Player Football team from Grandy Village.
Charles worked hard in the Norfolk area. The Norfolk Assembly Ford Plant was just one of his many jobs he held. Charles had a love for the seniors, so he found his way at Harbor Point Nursing Home, then changed his surroundings and went to Consulate Health Care. Charles wanted bigger things, so he tried out for a position at DePaul Hospital, where he received the job and was currently working there hard as a supervisor. Charles was a family man, he loved his family, each and every one of them. His family can only say good things about him and the way he made them laugh. Charles (Sparks) had a heart of gold and if he was your friend, he would always give you a new name of his choice (LOL). If you knew Sparks as we did, you knew he loved his music. To his friends from the family, we know yu are going to miss him too.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Charles Thomas Sparks and his fraternal grandmother, Barbara Augson. Charles A.K.A. Sparks, leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy, his wife, Mrs. Catisha Datrice Sparks of Norfolk, VA; first born, Zymeir Sparks of Virginia Beach, VA. In their union, God Blessed Sparks and Tisha with two daughters and two sons and with their blended family that he loved and cherished.

They shared their hearts together in love for Ms. Diamond Greenier and Ms. Tyanna Smith of Norfolk, Virginia. The smiles they would have on their face about how all three young men were developing into terrific young men. Mr. Malik Smith and Mr. Marquez Smith of Norfolk, Virginia; one grandson, Zayden Bowles and his main man, Ken, Jr. a.k.a. “KJ” of Norfolk, Virginia.
Charles “Sparks” knew her has his heartbeat, his grandmother, Mrs. Ruth Sparks of Norfolk, Virginia; #1 sister, Ms. Danielle Sparks Jones (Ken) of Norfolk, Virginia; mother in law, Ms. Diane Dailey of Norfolk, Virginia; #1 brother in law, Damien Epps (Shernica) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; #1 sister in law, Ms. Abriel Epps of Norfolk, Virginia. His loving aunts of Norfolk, Virginia, Ms. Linda Rayner and Ms. Helen Jones. Sparks loved being around his uncle, Mr. Albert Jones a.k.a “Uncle Moon”.

There are so many other’s that Sparks love, we just cannot say them all, there are a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, in laws, family and friends. I say to those that I left behind, stand strong and be there for one another until
we meet again…until then, just know I’m in Heaven listening to my music.

Rest in paradise to my flesh and blood brother. I never got to be apart of your life which hurts even more. I didn’t even get to attend your funeral. Anyone who got in the way of us finally meeting will receive their karma. One day we will meet and I will catch you up on all the things you missed, things that it would have been great to have a big brother there for. Sincerely your baby sister.
