Sunset: April 19, 2022

Charles Murray Williams was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He departed this earthly life and entered into eternal life on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. He was born January 30, 1948, in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Willie and Rosa Mae Lowery Williams. He graduated from Dennis High School in Bishopville, South Carolina. His parents started his spiritual foundation at an early age at Bishopville Baptist Church. In 1968, he rededicated his life to Jesus Christ and joined Deliverance Evangelistic Center in Newark, New Jersey where he served faithfully for over sixteen years under the leadership of Apostle Arturo Skinner. He was formerly employed for 17 years at United Steel Metal Refinery in New Jersey.

He was affectionately known to family and friends as “Charlie.” In 1985, he married Anna Glover Williams and from their loving union, God joined two families together. As one, they experienced much love and joy in serving the Lord, each other, and their family.

Charles was later employed at Castle Cars and Checkered Flag in Norfolk, Virginia. In 1996, he started his own car detailing business. Over the years, he continued his faithful service as an ordained Elder and President of the Presbyterian and Minister’s Board working directly alongside Bishop James and Pastor Jeanette Moyler at Bethel Abundant Love Ministries in Chesapeake, Virginia. Elder Charles was faithful and dedicated to the ministry of helps and served families and people. He was ready at all times to do as the Lord commanded and whatever his hands found to do, he did it with compassion, joy, and love.

Elder Charles had an infectious smile and humorous spirit. He knew how to make you laugh and brighten up your day with one of his many stories. He was a handyman and an avid fisherman. He enjoyed fishing but he loved being a fisher of men for the Kingdom of God. His life was a living example of his favorite Bible verse, Luke 14:23- “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” He was a man after God’s own heart. He could carry a tune and loved singing the old time gospel way. His continuous praise to the Lord was always one of thanksgiving for the many blessings and for all God had done in his life.

Known to us at this time, he was predeceased by his parents and sons, Cory and Jermaine Williams. Elder Charles Williams leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved and faithful wife, Elder Anna Glover Williams and combined family; daughter, Quiana Williams; bonus son; John (Sharon) Glover, Sr.; grandchildren, Sinethea (Dominic) Brickhouse, Angelina Glover, John (Myla) Glover, Jr., and Samuel Glover; great-grandchildren, Justyce Brown, Onya Moore, Jordan and Jasiah Glover, Layla Glover, Miracle and Alina Glover; sisters, Lucille Lowery Joyner, Portsmouth, VA, Pansy McQuilla Best, South Carolina; brother, Ronnie West, New York; cousins, Mae Ruth, Rev.
