Charles Henry Walton of Chesapeake, Virginia, earned his heavenly reward on February 5, 2025, peacefully, in his sleep. Born in Gatesville, North Carolina on November 27, 1954, and later moved to the Crestwood section of Chesapeake, VA. He was preceded in death by his mother Bertha Lee White-Walton, his father James Early Walton, Jr., and his devoted wife Rhonda F. Walton. He leaves to cherish his memory, four daughters, Tomago Jenkins (Herman), Kewanda Headen, Shanik Alexander, and Ronita Headen, three sons, Antoine Headen, Anthony Headen (Tessa), and Galvinston Walton, four sisters, Delphine Powell, Cynthia Walton, Liza White, and Gwendolyn White, and three brothers, Carlton Walton (Shernita), Ricky White, and James White, Jr. Two best friends, Michael Jones and Glenn Griffin, who never missed a visit, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, an uncle, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and cousins.
Charles was educated in the Chesapeake Public School System, where he attended Indian River High School until the 11th grade and later joined the military (Army) for a short time. Charles was employed by McClendon Trucking in the 90s and later with JB Hunt Transport until his retirement in 2015; he loved being on the road, traveling the world. I would always say, Daddy, let’s take a trip, and he would reply, “I’ve already seen the world boo boo, I’m ok right here at home.โ Daddy, I’ll always love you, you’re getting the best care now.

February 11, 2025 at 10:37 amDaddy, you were so strong and you fought for as long as you could. I admired your strength even when I โtalked too muchโ for you. Iโll miss our talks and you telling me about myself with a straight face. Your boo boo is missing you some something terrible, but I know youโd want me happy and smiling. Iโll try to be strong for you daddy. I love you, Infinity.
