Charles Eshel Stith Sr. passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on April 7, 2020 in Chesapeake, VA. at the age of 88. Charles is preceded in death by his parents Henry I. Stith and Rosa B. Stith, daughter Donna M.S. Robinson and brother Herold Stith. Charles was born on September 20, 1931 in Southampton County, VA to Henry and Rosa Stith. He married Dorothy L. (Phillips) Stith, in 1960. The couple welcomed three children into their lives.
They were raised at his current residence. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, patient and driven father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. After moving to Chesapeake, Charles began working for The Colonial Store as a Produce Manager where he later retired with over 25 years of servitude and dedication. After retiring, he was still a hardworking man with many other occupations which included security guard (Allsafe) and maintenance. Charles was a jack of all trades and had many hobbies that he often offered to teach others. He loved going fishing, baking cakes, working on cars, gardening and spending time with his family. He was a very self-driven individual who loved to stay active and had a routine every day that he followed even till his last days. Although he was a quiet man when he would speak, it commanded your attention especially when it came to current events and politics. Charles leaves to cherish his memory , his wife Dorothy L. Stith, son Charles E. Stith Jr. (Dorothy Miranda), daughter Wanda D. Stith-Artis (Ray), son in-law Samuel Robinson III, his sisters and brothers Mary Harris, Marion Rubiano, Valesse Menefield, Myra
Stith, James Stith, Robert Stith (Louise), Henry Stith Jr., sister-in-law, Grace L. Stith, 28 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
