Cecilia Ann Cromwell

Sunrise: October 30, 1956

Sunset: May 30, 2021

Mrs. Cecilia Ann Cromwell-Clarke “Peaches” 64, the daughter of Celia and Oliver Cromwell, was born October 30,1956 in Metropolitan hospital and passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, with her family by her side. Cecilia was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, aunt and friend. She was loved by all who came around her, her love and care for people was irreplaceable and will greatly be missed. She loved her family and friends beyond what words could explain.

Cecilia graduated high school and attended college in the 70’s, she worked for the city of New York for over 30 years starting off as a temporary clerk until a remarkable woman by the name of Rosa convinced her to take the city test to become a permanent worker. She took the test and passed. Within 10 years she worked her way up to director holding that position until her retirement. She left New York in 2015 and purchased her first forever home in the state of Virginia. She decorated and designed the house with passion making it comfortable for all who entered.

No matter how angry or sad you were she would always see the Brighter side in every situation. In her final moments she partied, played cards, and ate good food with a slew of family and friends right by her side talking laughing and joking, no one knew that on that day she would be leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, love, and joy in all our hearts, minds, and souls.

Cecilia enjoyed spending time with her husband of 41 years Alfredo Clarke, although they are two people, they are one person. They did everything together; their bond was so strong that even if you did not know them you could feel the love, they have for each other in the air. When two amazing souls meet the love is simply remarkable. We will all miss her and miss seeing them together, holding her forever in the dearest part of our hearts.

She was truly an angel on earth and on May 30, 2021, our angel got her wings, her access pass through the pearly gates of heaven, forever to watch over and guide us just as she always did. Her style, smile, long talks, love, care, joy, and acceptance for all is what she left us with and the part of her we can embrace and remember for an eternity and more.

Cecilia leaves to mourn, her mother Celia Ann Cromwell, devoted husband and best friend Alfredo Clarke, Siblings Jerome Cromwell, Elizabeth Cromwell-Brisbane and the late Mary M. Lewis (Honey). children Clarence D. Cromwell, Calvin L. Cromwell, Cammie M. Cromwell and Alfredo Clarke Jr. Grand children Tamiya, Jimmy, Tanisha, Tanea, Tia, Kamaria, Lil Tad, Khalid, Tatiana, Kevin, Kayla, Mckayla, Caleek, Maleek, Jamel and shallay and a slew of great grandchildren, cousins, aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and friends. She shared a special connection with each friend and family member both near and far. She was an active member of Browns Memorial Church until she moved to the state of Virginia. She loved decorating, listening to music especially gospel, shopping, having get togethers and spending time with family and friends. She was fun, loved to tell jokes and stories about her pass and she would also listen and laugh at your jokes even if they weren’t funny always present in the moment. She will be missed dearly. Although we mourn her passing, we also come together at this time to celebrate her life.
