Sunset: May 11, 2022

Cecelia (Cece) Thelnord Jackson of Titustown section of Norfolk, VA transitioned with the Lord on May 11, 2022.  Cece was born to the late Sarah Lee Hamlin Braxton and Aaron L. Braxton, Jr. in Norfolk, VA.  She was predeceased by her husband Otis R. Jackson, Jr.  She leaves behind eternally, her brother Aaron L. Braxton, III, 2 amazing daughters Cecelia (Robin) Howard and LaToya E. Jackson, with several grandchildren, Cpt. Raven Jackson, Raymoni Howard, Simeon Jackson, Jamel Ramage, and Kingston Armistead.  Cece attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Norfolk, VA.

Cece was a devoted member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member to the Lord for several years.  She was a member of the choir and also served on the Usher Board.  Cece made herself available as a Soldier to the lord and helped anyone in need within the church and community.

Cece had a creative spirited life desiring to be an interior designer, worked as a Nurse’s Assistant with Kings Daughter Children Hospital, and was a licensed beautician.  She was compelled in life to give back to community whenever there was a need.  Also, she was an excellent cook for friends and family.  Cece cherished family life particularly her daughters and grandchildren.  Cece’s life revolved around her children and there wasn’t a day that passed where she was the central figure in their life.

Cece’s memory will be forever cherished by her brother, daughters, and grandchildren, for they were her beacon of life.

Heartfelt appreciation is extended to the Sentara Hospital, Trinity Hospice Group, Metropolitan Funeral Service, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, and all of her cousins who extended a source of inspiration and strength.

Cece’s fiery spirit will be forever remembered and accepted as a mantel of love moving forward.  We are truly blessed to have had her in our life.  Cece will be greatly missed for her strength and wisdom as she was the anchored of the family.

I just found out about CeCe’s passing yesterday. My sincere prayers and condolences to the family. I grew up in Titustown as well and knew the Braxton family. CeCe stayed with my mother in Santa Ana. CA and I babysat Robin. She was fiery and had a beautiful spirit about herself that I liked and welcomed. Her beautiful smile was constant and ever effortless. She loved her children. What I remembered most is her whole face would light up when Robin was in the room. We can’t go through this life without struggle, trials and tribulations and love. I was truly sadden to hear she passed; and her light gone forever. Many out here knew and loved her including me. Rest in peace my friend.
