Catherine Winstead Heyward

On September 18th, Catherine “Kitty” Winstead-Heyward passed away at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. Catherine was born in Norfolk, Virginia on March 18, 1941 to Lucy and Ernest Winstead. She was educated in Norfolk Public Schools.

Catherine was predeceased by her mother and father; Her son, Michael Heyward; Six (6) sisters, Helen, Eunice, Dora Lee, Lizzie, Patricia and Virginia; Five (5) Brothers, Shadrach, Jesse, Israel, Harry and Charley Winstead.

Catherine is survived by three (3) daughters, Rita, Rhonda and Mary, of Norfolk, Virginia; Two (2) sons, Reginald and Brian of Norfolk; Two (2) sisters, Mary ”Mary Ruth” Winstead of Norfolk, Virginia and Ernestine Walton of Indianapolis, Indiana; Seven (7) grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends made over her many years of life.
