Casey D. Newsome was born on June 19, 1966 in Portsmouth, VA, to Mary Newsome and Dwight Marshall. After battling with severe illness, he was called home to be with the Lord on September 21, 2020. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and spending time with his family. He was a hard worker and willing to help anyone in need.

Casey is predeceased by his mother Mary Newsome, sister Alma Newsome-Saunders, and brother Dwight Newsome. He leaves to mourn his passing his father, Dwight (Iris) Marshall, four daughters Kasey (Portsmouth, VA), Kashawnice, Ashantee, and Jasmine Newsome (Chesapeake, VA) and one son Xavis Anderson (Portsmouth, VA). His sisters Portia (Terry) Ricks and Minister Teretta (Darrell) Harris of Portsmouth, VA; Starletres Dickens, Camereia Marshall, Jenna Marshall, and Barbralante Marshall of North Carolina. Brothers Shawn Marshall (Chesapeake, VA), Dedrick Dickens, Ernest and Joshua Marshall (North Carolina). Five grandchildren Dazhjanee, MaKayla, Azaria, Aiyanna, and a host of grandkids. Two god-sisters Shanequa Bass and Alneita Jones; two god-brothers Allen (Linda) Harris and Pernell Whitfield. His three uncles Bobby Newsome (North Carolina), Earl Newsome (Philadelphia), and Keath Marshall (Texas). His aunt Sheila Hicks (Suffolk,VA); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Casey will truly be missed but never forgotten.

    To the family, I didn’t see much of the family, but on Facebook. But we communicated and kept in touch. To Teretta and Portia, I know your heart is broken, but God is the source of your strength. Praying for each of you during this time of sorrow. Love you guys.
