Carolyn Elaine Knight entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 29, 2024. She was born on August 12, 1951, in Charleston, South Carolina. She graduated from I.C. Norcom High School and was also a graduate of Norfolk State University. She was employed by the City of Portsmouth and then the City of Chesapeake until she retired. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. She was a former member of Liberty Temple Church in Norfolk, Virginia.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Rush; her mother, Jesse Mae Rush; two brothers, Dennis Rush and Jobe Rush; a sister, Sharon Litton; a nephew, Charles Rush; and a loving companion, James Wesley.
She leaves to forever cherish her memory, a daughter; Chyrita Rush of Portsmouth, Virginia, two sons, Calvin Rush of Portsmouth, Virginia, and James Knight of Chesapeake, Virginia; two sisters, Charles Ann Jones (Samuel) of Stafford, Virginia, and Meta Rush-Brown (Kenneth) of Portsmouth, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Brian Butler, Calvin Rush, Jaelyn Moore, Erica Rush, Ahna Rush, Laeson Bowser-Cherry, Brianna Rush, Kye’ll Knight and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

I m truly sorry for the lost of your mother. I know being prepare still doesn’t ease the pain. Your mother was always kind to me . She always made me laugh saying my first n last name together. She always made me feel welcome along with your entire family.

God called her home because he knew she was getting tired, and had won her battle and God had a better home for her! Where there will be no more pains!! We shared a lot together!
