Like many I have had my own special friendship with Carlton. We were friends for many many years since 1985, mainly phone buddies, For years he’d call me every Sunday from his Grandmother’s house after having just ate a big meal and he’d kick back and run down his week, I mostly listened to him talk about Mom, Daryl, Darren, Carl Jr., Kevin, the church service and then his love interest, and his travels. We’ve kept in touch all these years thru trucking and retirement and I am deeply saddened to say goodbye to my buddy – sending you a message to Rest In Heaven my dear friend No More Pain and Suffering You Are Set Free!.

Please accept my sincere condolences as you mourn the loss of my dear friend and brother. It was always a joy to accompany him as he lifted his voice to sing praises to our God and King, and I especially remember his soul-stirring rendition of “Tell It” (If the Lord has blessed your soul…). For many years, he was also quite dedicated in his support of my monthly publication, GRAMS of FAITH.
May God surround the family with divine comfort as only He can during this time of bereavement.

Mr. Carlton will definitely be missed by our teamster union brothers and I. We had great memories laughing, joking, and working together. That man loved his family and the people who he reached out to and communicated with.Be-Lo was one of his favorite lunch spots at Norfolk industrial Park and several old union brothers gave him the nickname Be-Lo. Mr. Carlton rest in peace sir. May God bless you and your family. Heartbroken.
