We respectfully announce the passing of Mr. Carlton Leon Reeves, on August 28, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born on November 5, 1951, in Norfolk, VA, to the late Andrew Leon Reeves and Virgie Mary Reeves.
Carlton attended Booker T. Washington High School and renewed his commitment to education by obtaining his GED. His love for music, deeply rooted in his being, led him to form an R&B group with 3 of his longtime friends. Initially known as “The Movements,” their collective journey in music, led them to change their name to “Norfolk, but GOD had other plans for Carlton as his musical journey led him to use his melodious voice to be a beacon of hope and faith in the MOST HIGH, for all to see and hear.
His musical talents, particularly his proficiency on the keyboard, were complemented by his ability to compose songs that resonated with the soul. Above all, Carlton’s commitment to his family and friends stood paramount, as he shared life’s blessings with generosity and love.
He leaves behind his daughter, Carletta Jones; his grandsons, Marcus, Martell, and Martrez; his granddaughter, Marianna; his sister, Maria Reeves; his brothers, Anthony, Ronald, Andrew, and William Reeves; his fiancée, Rita Bell; and a lineage of nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Carlton’s life was a reflection of his unwavering faith in The ALMIGHTY GOD.
As we bid farewell to Carlton Leon Reeves, we are comforted by the knowledge that he now rests in perfect peace. May his soul be cradled in the arms of our Lord and Savior.
