Carlton E. Turner

On November 26, 2020, a loving father, brother, uncle and friend was called home by our Heavenly Father.

Carlton E. Turner, son of the late Annie Loiuse Reid Turner Paxton and the late James B. “Big Apple” Turner, was born November 11, 1952 in South Mills, NC. He attended school at Marian Anderson and graduated from I.C. Norcom High School which led him to the United States Marine Corp.  He loved his family unconditionally and was always excited to be with them.

Carlton leaves to cherish his memories, his one and only daughter, Sheneida Burton (Charles) of Chesapeake, VA; his first wife, longtime friend and occasional caregiver, Shelia L. Turner of Chesapeake, VA; six sisters – Joyce T. Perry of Elizabeth City, NC, Barbara T. Sawyer of Camden, NC, Beverly T. Jones (Felix) of Chesapeake, VA, Pamela T. Poole (Albert) of Thomasville, NC, Carla Turner of Clayton, NC, and Lottie Turner of Richmond, VA; six brothers – Tommie Turner (Poinette), Wayne Turner (Barbara), Leonard Turner all of Portsmouth, VA, Roosevelt Turner (Lashanda) of Woodbridge, VA, Timothy Turner (Tynesha) of Greenville, NC, and Emanual Williams of Suffolk, VA; three grandchildren – Jamonte J. Smith (Aarin) of Virginia Beach, VA, Breona S. Cowan and Breon T. Cowan both of Chesapeake, VA and three great grandchildren – Kingston O. Cowan and Phoenix A. Martin both of Chesapeake, VA and Cameron Young of Virginia Beach. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Carlton was predeceased by both of his parents – Annie Louise Reid Turner Paxton and James B. “Big Apple” Turner, his second wife – Arnethia Turner, his sister Betty T. Forbes and brothers James B. “Sonny” Turner, and Glen Turner.
