On April 20, 2020, Calvin Earl Lassiter A.K.A. “Slim” went home to be with the Lord. He was born in Chowan County, NC to the late Joseph and Emma Lassiter. Calvin attended Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, VA and later joined the U.S. Army. Calvin worked at several local shipyards as a welder.
He was predeceased by his father Joseph Lassiter, Mother Emma LeeLassiter, and Great-granddaughter Kali Taylor. Calvin leaves behind his only child Sabina McInnis; five grandchildren Lakesha McInnis, Lakaren Taylor (LaJerrick), Keyana Harvey, Steven Harvey and Jerome Harvey; three great grandchildren, Keshara Sorrell, Maddisyn Taylor, and Nasir Taylor; brother Joseph Lassiter (Marilyn), and a host of family and friends.
