On September 5, 2018, God called our beloved father, husband and friend, Bruce E. Boone, Jr home. Bruce resided in Chesapeake, Virginia until his passing. He was the son of Bruce E. Boone, Sr. (Trina) and Elizabeth Shirley Boone (deceased). Bruce was born October 30, 1965 and worked as a longshoreman for 18 years at ILA local 1248. He loved his job and his job title. He will be forever remembered for his jokes, making people laugh with his crazy sense of humor. He had a unique way of showing love to everyone in his life. Bruce leaves to cherish his memories his wife; Tanika Boone, his loving children; Bruce E. Boone III (Lil Bruce) of Chesapeake, VA, Brittany Speight of Chesapeake, VA, Jeanetta and Jamika Burnett of Temple Hill, MD, Melba Parker (Jaquan) of Chesapeake, VA, Tiffany Saunders of Portsmouth, VA, Dierdre Beard (Wynton) of Hampton, VA and David Short of Chesapeake, VA; two brothers; Craig Boone and Keith Boone of Chesapeake, VA; three sisters; Rosetta Boone of Portsmouth, VA, Shana Boone of Newport News, VA and Bruce Moore of Washington, DC and a very special friend; Layla Godfrey. Bruce was preceded in death by his son, Jerelle Burnett. Bruce will be missed by 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, a host of cousins, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.

    To my ILA brother Bruce. Work will never be the same without your hilarious stories! Working with you made me go back to the drawing board for jokes. A presence that can never be duplicated or replaced. We will miss you on that pier. Rest in Paradise and I will see you when I get there.
