Brenda Lee was born June 14, 1959 in Portsmouth, VA to Ervin Lee (D) and Gorgeous Lee (D). She grew up in Mount Hermon and went on to attend Churchland High School. She enjoyed early morning shopping trips to the markets, garage sales and she had to have her coffee for the road. Brenda loved to dress up for any occasion especially church on Sunday mornings.
Brenda was the encourager. She motivated you to follow your heart and dreams and gave her opinions along the way. She loved to sing and give singing lessons and always reminded you of her voice from “back in the day.” You could talk to Brenda about anything and tell her what was on your mind and she was always accepting no matter the circumstance. She loved to spend time with family but most of all her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was the understanding mother, the praying sister, the cool aunt and the loving grandmother all in one.
Brenda loved God and studied the word often. She could quote bible verses easily and quickly put them into context. She wouldn’t mind telling you what was on her heart or in her spirit. She often spoke of prayer and forgiveness and shared her stories whenever she was led to do so. Brenda was thoughtful in prayer and in giving. If you needed something and she had it, it was yours. Her love, compassion and warmth will be deeply missed
Brenda leaves behind two sons, Durelle Lee and Juan Lee, a daughter in law, Felicia Lee, three grandchildren, Niya Elliott-Lee, Ny’Jai Scott-Lee, Ah’Mazyn Lee, six siblings, Earl Watts, Vina Watts, Angela Lee, Angelo Lee, Charles Lee, Cathy Lee and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins that she loved dearly.

January 20, 2021 at 7:35 pmI am sorry to hear of Brenda’s passing. It is ironic that I just posted a picture on her Facebook page of our graduation class from kindergarten last month. I pray God’s healing and comfort over your family as you adjust to the transitioning of your loving mother, sister, aunt and friend.
