Bobby J. Person was born on July 21,1942, to the late Bertha Marie Brown and John Lee Person in Norfolk, Virginia. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School where he was proficient in leadership and communications. As a life-long resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia, he passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024. He became a member of the United States Air Forces where he served his country proudly. He has received countless certificates, honors, awards, etc. in these roles while in service. He also traveled overseas to various countries during deployment opportunities including schooling in Japan. After serving his country, Bobby went on to work for the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Grain Grading Field Supervisor for over 40 years. On March 5, 1990, he married Sandra Yvette Person. They have been married for more than 34 years.
Bobby “Hotz” Person was heavily known for his energy that was intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever being known for his dance moves – and his “Life of the Party” image that will never be forgotten. Bobby was a devoted father and focused heavily on the well-being of those who he loved. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, walking long distance, dancing, and the TV Show, “Jeopardy”. He frequently listened to music and entertained friends; but most importantly of all things, he was a diehard Dallas Cowboys Fan!
He is preceded in death by his Parents (Bertha Marie Brown and John Lee Person), Brothers: Paul, Peppy, and Melvin, and Son: Daquan Person.
Bobby leaves to honor in his memory his beloved wife, Sandra Person; Daughter: Melvala; Tiffany (Kendrick); Tara Anthony (Kirby); Karen Jenkins (Bervin); Candis Williams(Crystal); and Alisha Gregory (Okeino); Sons: Peppy, Antonio Williams, and Bobby Person, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
The world bids farewell to Bobby Jean Person at the age of 82

October 25, 2024 at 7:27 pmWhere do I start, I practically lived at your house when I was a kid. You treated me as if I was on of your own. I never forget playing Uno, spades, and you teaching me how to play dominoes. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Love yall.
