Birdes James Sanderson Sr.
On June 26, 2019, God summoned home his faithful servant, our beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to live with him in paradise.
Birdes, lovingly known as “Bert” was born December 22, 1940 to the late Mr. and Mrs. James and Annie Sanderson of Virginia Beach.
Bert attended Virginia Beach Public Schools and was employed & later retired from Custom Windows and Doors as a Certified Carpenter.
Bert was a soft spoken, easy going man and an avid hunter. His greatest moment hunting was when he finally scored his 8 pointer buck. He was loved by many family and friends.
He will now join his late son Birdes James Sanderson Jr. in his final resting place at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk.
He leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife of 54 years Rosa Sanderson of Virginia Beach, daughter Wanda Rabb (Torrance) of Portsmouth, Son Marvin Sanderson (Christina) of Norfolk, daughters Theresa Mosley of Virginia Beach, Demetria Bellamy (Fred) of Chesapeake, sons Trevelle Sanderson (Lorrie), Kennethy Sanderson, and Travis Mosley all of Virginia Beach. A loving and caring sister Shirley Pitchford of Norfolk and a special aunt Elizabeth Davis of Va. Beach, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousin and friends.
The family would like to express a heartfelt Thank you to the Princesses Anne Rehabilitation Nursing Staff. A special thanks to Blake for his patience and encouragement. Additional Thank you to the Kindred Hospice nurses Diane Boyd and Christie Thaxton.
