January 5, 2022 at 5:51 pmMy condolences to the Davis & Whitaker Family on the passing of Sister Betty Davis. Though it saddened me to hear of her passing, it is a comfort to know that Betty is serving God through that “beautiful voice” and, her willingness to always avail of herself to assist anytime there was a medical, teaching, and spiritual need. Bettie’s legacy will continue to live on through her Children and Grandchildren. Betty will be missed by us all here at SCBC.

February 18, 2022 at 7:37 pmTo the entire family of Mrs. Davis: Mrs. Davis was a jewel. I met her at a time when I was dealing with lots of “inner pain” from having lost my son, my parents, some friends/classmates, some cousins, some co-workers, and having 2 sick brothers. She and I talked about everything – sharing our trials and tribulations of life. She was easy to talk to. I saw her as a very strong , spiritual woman. She was truly an inspiration to me. I was contacted by her office last year letting me know that Mrs. Davis was sick. Later on, they contacted me telling me she was retiring and would not be returning to work. I didn’t know until today (Feb 18, 2022) that she had passed away. My heart is truly broken. I am still in shock. Mrs. Davis was my therapist and my friend. I am so sorry that she left us but I know she’s happy as she rejoices with God, the angels, her husband, and all the others that she loved so dearly who passed away before her. Lean on your faith and on each other. Keep your memories in heart – for she will live in your hearts forever. When missing her, think of the good times you had together, the love you shared, the hurdles of life that you faced together, and the list goes on and on. Rest in peace Miss Betty (as I called her). I am already missing you.
