I am still in shock. She was kind and tough. She lived with almost insurmountable challenges and prevailed. She worked hard all her life raising two amazing children to adulthood and found a great guy, Larry Lowey to go through her adult life with. I loved talking with her usually with a lap full of dogs and with passion and compassion.
As a tween I traveled with her and my grandparents to Washington DC by steamer overnight. I later travelled her to Maine. She rarely complained about anything. I was proud of her as a single mom. She persisted. She was a great and hearty human. She will be missed. I pray for her family and Larry. Am grateful for the help that her daughter Debbie has given to Betty and Larry. I know she was proud of her dear granddaughter and coed.
