Our beloved Bessie Mae Wright passed on Sunday afternoon, April 11, 2021 at Norfolk Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born to the late Estelle Phillips and John Henry Phillips on December 17, 1945 in Newport News, Virginia. She graduated from Carver High School and was a Jehovah’s Witness in Norfolk, VA for over 30 years. Although suffering through a myriad of health issues, Bessie’s faith and service to Jehovah never wavered. All who knew her knew about her love for and faith in Jehovah God. Bessie got baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 7, 1994, and she has been servicing Jehovah God for 27 years.
Bessie leaves behind to cherish her memories, two daughters, Renee Whitley and Shauna Wilson (Felix); one son, Chris Phillips (Darlene); seven grandchildren, Precious Wilson (Terrence). Ashley Wilson, Shanice Wilson, Shaquetta Whitley, Jasmine Wilson, Ariel Wilson and Corey Staton. Bessie also leaves to cherish her memories, fourteen great grandchildren and not to mention, lifetime acquaintances and loved ones whose hearts were touched by the presence of Bessie Mae Wright in their lives.
