Bessie B. Bonney

Our loved one, Bessie B. Bonney was adorned with her wings on May 28, 2018.  Bessie was a native of Norfolk, VA but resided in VA Beach, VA for many years.  She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School after which she pursued her B.A. degree in Sociology at Norfolk State University.  Bessie served in the United States Army and retired as a Supervisor from the United States Postal Service where she worked for over 30 years.  She was a faithful member of St. Thomas AME Zion Church.  Bessie will be remembered for her loyalty to her family and friends, her generous heart, her strong personality and her love for God.  She was predeceased by her parents; Joseph and Elsie Bonney; sister, Barbara Bonney and her brother, Anthony E, Bonney.  She leaves behind to cherish her memories, one sister, Viola V. Wilson of Petersburg, VA.; five nieces, Sherri L. B. Dixon of Va Beach, Jeanita Castille of Washington, DC., Dena McQueen of Raleigh, NC., Dawn Charity of Petersburg, VA. and Joyce Pringle of VA Beach, VA.; two nephews, Alan Williams of Newport News, VA., and Stevan Williams of Norfolk, VA. as well as a host of other loving family and friends.

      BESSIE BONNEY was a very funny lady I was fortunate to work with her at pier 1 and first data I think I laughed the entire time in her presence sorry I didn’t say my goodbyes to her and get one more good laugh. sending prayer up for the family
